Virginia is for Cyclists

My father and I have decided to cycle across the state of Virginia this summer. This is kind of a big deal since I don't cycle and never have. Besides being a grueling task that will happen in the hottest month of the year, I'm super excited about it! I met a guy named Mark in my cycling class who is going to help us out with some publicity and possibly get us sponsored?! what?! Even if that doesn't happen, I'd love to have the support of my friends reading my blog. He's going to get it all set-up and we'll update weekly about our training and (potentially hilarious) stories about things we're learning along the way.

Just for a taste of things I've learned so far:
* Spinning classes are fun, but they are indoors with fans and AC. The real world will be a little harsher I'm sure.
* Listening to Jai Ho while riding makes it go by faster but not the Pussycat Dolls version, they just make me want to hit something.
* Don't try to start off doing two cycling classes in a row. I definitely need at least a day in between to feel my legs (and butt) again.

Thanks for the support, friends! Once the official blog is up I'll make sure to post a link. <3
